SPORTS fans around the country will be glued to their sets this weekend with the AFL and NRL grand finals both set down for decision.

Ipswich boasts a strong connection to both deciders with former Jets stars, Kevin Walters and Alfie Langer behind the Broncos, while the Lions now have their home base in the Springfield district.

The Lions will take on Collingwood who scrapped home in a one-point thriller against GWS Giants.

They will start as narrow underdogs on Saturday to pick up their first premiership shield since 2003.

Tickets for the match sold out in minutes ensuring a crowd approaching 100,000 at the MCG.

The Broncos will also be the outsiders as they try to tame the Penrith Panthers who have been premiership favourites all year.

Both the Broncos and Panthers belted their preliminary final opponents setting the scene for great grand-final clashes.
