IPSWICH’S creative community is taking centre stage once again with the announcement of the 2025 Get Your Arts Into Gear Award nominees.

What began as a light-hearted segment on West Bremer Radio has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated celebrations of local talent, now attracting widespread attention across the city’s vibrant arts scene.

This year’s event will culminate on December 13, with the winners revealed during a ceremony livestreamed on YouTube, ensuring the whole community can be part of the celebration.

West Bremer Radio & Media Director Bradley Clarke said the evolution of the awards had been a highlight for the station.

“Every year we’re blown away by the creativity and passion shown by our local artists,” he said.

“These nominations prove just how strong the arts scene is across Ipswich and the wider region. It’s an honour to help showcase the incredible work being produced.”

His excitement is echoed by many in the arts community who have watched the event transform from a fun idea into a respected platform for artistic recognition.

Artsconnect’s Glen Smith also praised the strength and diversity of this year’s nominees, noting the broad range of disciplines represented.

“The talent we have here is extraordinary,” he said.

“From theatre to literature, music to community engagement, these artists are telling important stories and bringing people together. The 2025 nominees truly reflect the heartbeat of our local arts community.”

Mr Smith’s comments capture the spirit of the awards – a celebration not only of individual achievement but of the region’s shared creative identity.

This year’s nominee list spans theatre, literature, music, and community-driven arts initiatives.

Together, they represent the collaborative energy that continues to shape and elevate the region’s cultural landscape.
