THE city’s heart will transform into a prehistoric playground these school holidays with the ground-shaking arrival of giant animatronic dinosaurs.

The Dinosaur Discovery experience will return to Nicholas Street Precinct from September 22 to October 4.

Tulmur Place will roar to life from 10am to 2pm daily with outdoor activities and mini markets. The dinosaurs remain on display day and night.

Ipswich City Council Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chair Pye Augustine said last year’s Dinosaur Discovery experience proved a great drawcard for families.

“Last year, there were almost 60,000 attendances to Tulmur Place to experience prehistoric life up close,” she said.

The full activation invites families to explore a dinosaur stomp trail between Tulmur Place and d’Arcy Doyle Place.

A Dinosaur Train live show and character meet and greet will be on September 24-30.

There will also be face painting and sand pit discovery digs.
