I HOPE you had a peaceful and relaxing Easter and were able to spend some time with friends and family.
Kholo Gardens perfect for a picnic
We enjoyed a picnic with the family and grandkids at Kholo Gardens.
This picturesque spot is located on the Brisbane River and offers something for everyone.
There is a man-made lagoon with water lilies and a waterfall, a number of walks, open space, barbecues and seats.
The park also offers magnificent views of the Brisbane River.

GO KARTS FIRE UP
Tony Quinn purchased Queensland Raceways last year and has invested millions of dollars upgrading facilities and now he has just opened a go kart track.
This is new to the city and is open to the public Friday to Sunday for drivers 10 years and over.
My mate Dave and I tested the track Sunday and had a ball.
The Willowbank Motor Precinct has a lot to offer, and with the closing of Archerfield Speedway this year, there is further opportunity for growth.
I look forward to seeing the Supercars back in our city.
Once again, well done Tony Quinn for your vision and investment in Ipswich,

BASKETBALL ON THE BOUNCE
Ipswich Basketball has had a resurgence in the last couple of years with well over 2000 players.
The growth of the sport is good to see but has the current home of basketball at Bundamba is struggling to cope, with fixtures now played across five venues.
It’s time our city had an indoor sports facility to cope with our growth that could also accommodate a number of other sports.
It’s exciting to hear that Ipswich junior and former Australian Boomer Matt Hodgson has been signed by Ipswich Force to play in the upcoming NBL1 competition.

ALBO HERE FOR SHOW
The Ipswich Show celebrates its 150th year this May, and Anthony Albanese will be opening the show to celebrate the occasion.
He will be the first Prime Minister to ever visit the Show.
It’s now only five weeks away and is promising to be the biggest ever with a packed program of events and entertainment for the whole family.
Have a great week and remember to support local whenever you can, its keeps a lot of people in work.
