MAZDA has taken a bold leap into the future with the unveiling of its latest electric crossover SUV, the Mazda EZ-60, at the 21st Shanghai Auto Show.

Developed by Changan Mazda, the EZ-60 is the brand’s second New Energy Vehicle, and is designed to meet the diverse needs of the growing Chinese electric vehicle (EV) market.

Available in both battery electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions, the EZ-60 blends cutting-edge technology, aerodynamic design and Mazda’s hallmark driving experience.

It’s a striking example of the brand’s new design theme, “FUTURE + SOUL x MODERN”, which marries elegant styling with contemporary aesthetics.

Unique air passageways in the front hood not only create a futuristic visual but also improve aerodynamic efficiency and power consumption at high speeds.

Under the bonnet, Mazda continues its commitment to responsive driving dynamics. A 50:50 front-rear weight balance, front strut and rear multi-link suspension, and electronically controlled dampers offer a smooth and controlled ride. True to Mazda’s “Jinba-ittai” philosophy – meaning horse and rider as one – the EZ-60 promises a connected, intuitive drive.

The BEV version offers a driving range of around 600km, while the PHEV boasts over 1000km per refuelling, making it practical for long-distance travel as well as daily commuting.

Inside, the EZ-60 delivers a high-tech, luxurious experience. The smart cabin can be operated using voice, touch, or even gestures. Safety is enhanced with intelligent driving assistance features and voice-activated smart parking that can be engaged from outside the vehicle.

A 26.45-inch 5K display stretches across the dashboard, paired with a virtual 3D heads-up display, keeping vital information clearly in view.

The audio system features multiple speakers and 3D sound, including headrest speakers that allow different audio for the driver and front passenger – perfect for personalised entertainment.

With its futuristic form and cutting-edge features, the Mazda EZ-60 marks a major step in Mazda’s electric evolution.
