IPSWICH musician Paulina has joined with disabled musicians and performers on stage with a special free event celebrating music, storytelling, creativity and inclusion.
Music Without Limits brought together an eclectic line-up of artists at The Cave Inn in Woolloongabba, showcasing performers with lived experience of disability and the contribution they make to Queensland’s creative community.
Headlining the afternoon was Ambition Road, the musical project of blind Brisbane singer-songwriter David Truong, alongside award-winning vocalist Paulina.
The pair shared original songs, harmonies and crowd favourites as part of an event designed not simply to showcase disability, but to put talented artists and their work firmly in the spotlight.
They were joined by D & K Duo, whose performances combine original music, humour and personal storytelling while promoting greater inclusion through the arts.
Country performer Ivan J. Collins also took to the stage with songs drawing on themes of resilience, lived experience and hope.
Rounding out the line-up were Ella Doneman and Jeff Usher, bringing together jazz, cabaret, original material and classic songs backed by decades of musical experience.
While tickets to Music Without Limits were free, audience members were encouraged to make a donation, with all proceeds to go to a disability-focused charity or organisation.
The event aimed to provide another platform for disability-led creativity while giving audiences the opportunity to discover local performers in an accessible and welcoming live-music environment.
It also carried a broader message about recognising artists for their creativity and ability while ensuring people with disability have opportunities to perform, tell their own stories and connect directly with audiences.
Music Without Limits was supported by the Revive Live Music Fund, an Australian Government initiative.
