Ipswich Art Society has elected a new committee with Jan Stolberg taking on the roll as the new president.

Jan is a local artist and been involved in the Ipswich Arts Community for the past four years and previous six years with the Somerset Art Community.

Jan said that she was looking forward to seeing where she can take the Art Society in the next year.

The Art society is already planning an Art Exhibition in early November. Other committee members elected were Leonie Peasey as secretary, Garry Broadhurst as treasurer with Lesley Cavell and John Naverkis as committee members.

The Art Society provide the opportunity for all artists to express, develop their creative skills and exhibit their art in a supportive environment.

It is a not-for-profit organisation and is a vital part of Ipswich’s vibrant arts community.

They meet at the Old Ipswich Courthouse each Tuesday 9am-1pm for a non-tutored morning with fellow artists, they welcome beginners, emerging or experienced artists.
