IF the organisers of the 2023 Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail were hoping for great weather on Sunday they got their wish in sunshine loads.

A cloudless sky and a balmy 27 degrees saw visitors flock to the Scenic Rim to enjoy the hospitality of local farmers, growers, producers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and flavour-makers across the region.

They had all prepared for more than a month to open their gates for a day celebrating where Scenic Rim food comes from.

The roads may have been a little dusty leading into the Towri Sheep Cheese dairy, but that didn’t stop hundreds from popping in for morning tea and a coffee. The numbers caught the owners a little by surprise as they struggled to keep up with the demand for those wanting to try the cheeses.

The paddocks and surrounds were pristine for the occasion and the sheep in the pens even wore scarves.

One of the most popular stops was the Overflow Wine Estate at Wyaralong where the two French Chefs restaurant was fully booked out days before the event started.

Many just grabbed a picnic blanket and enjoyed a wine on the lawn and listened to the live music.
