RESIDENTS now have a major new retail destination on their doorstep, with Stockland officially opening the $65 million Providence Town Centre.
The new neighbourhood centre, located at the heart of the Providence master planned community, has been designed to provide everyday essentials while creating a local hub where residents can shop, dine and connect closer to home.
The first stage of the development spans more than 8000 square metres and is home to almost 30 retailers and services, anchored by a full-line Coles supermarket. The centre also features a 140-place Green Leaves Early Learning childcare centre, Priceline Pharmacy, health and wellbeing providers, and a range of dining and takeaway options.
Stockland Executive General Manager of Town Centres, Marco Ettorre, said the opening represented an important milestone in the company’s commitment to delivering community-focused retail centres within growing residential developments.
“Today’s milestone reflects our constructive relationship with Ipswich City Council in supporting sustainable, well-planned growth,” Mr Ettorre said.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said the centre would play a vital role in supporting the rapid population growth occurring across the Ripley Valley.
Mayor Teresa Harding said investment in community infrastructure was essential as Ipswich continued to grow.
“Targeted investment into these suburbs is critical to ensuring our city doesn’t fall behind, and the ongoing delivery of modern facilities means more residents can work, learn and enjoy life right here in their own backyard,” she said.
