QUEENSLAND Corrective Services has kicked off its campaign to recruit more than 800 jobs for the new men’s correctional centre which will open next year at Gatton.

The new, 1536-bed centre will be the largest in Queensland with a commitment to the health and rehabilitation of prisoners in a safe and secure environment.

The operating model of the new centre represents a new direction for Queensland Corrective Services, with many programs and services to be delivered onsite.

This will include mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in modern and fit-for-purpose spaces.

The recruitment campaign is calling on job seekers, new graduates and people looking for a career change to unlock their job and lifestyle potential at the new centre.

It is encouraging people to work and live in the Ipswich and Lockyer Valley regions and enjoy the benefits of a career in corrections, such as job security and a great work/life balance.

Jobs available at the new centre include custodial correctional officers, trade instructors, psychologists, administration officers, allied health workers, case managers and more.
