QUEENSLANDERS are set to benefit from a major investment in community safety, as the 2025-26 State Budget is hailed as delivering stronger frontline policing, better crime-fighting tools and upgraded facilities.

A total of $290.3 million has been committed to building new and upgrading existing police stations, facilities and beats, with a further $147.9 million allocation to go towards vital new equipment for frontline officers.

Over the next five years, further investments will see $41.5 million spent on upgrading Body Worn Cameras.

In addition to other new equipment and facilities, the Government is backing police efforts to protect vulnerable Queenslanders and permanently fund 61 positions – including roles in the Vulnerable Persons Unit.

To reinforce the frontline, 1600 new police recruits will be delivered over the next four years, helping to make communities across Queensland safer.

Minister for Police and Emergency Services Dan Purdie said the Crisafulli Government was providing police with the resources they need to do their job.

“We are delivering the vital equipment, infrastructure, and support they need to drive down crime,” Mr Purdie said.
