RELATIONSHIPS Australia Queensland has officially opened its new purpose-designed Ipswich venue, providing a modern home for a range of long-standing family support services as demand continues to grow across one of Queensland’s fastest- growing regions.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann joined Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding, RAQ Chief Executive Officer Natasha Rae, staff, partners and clients to officially open the facility, which brings a suite of family services together under one roof.
While the services themselves have supported Ipswich families for many years, the new centre is the first purpose-built venue to house RAQ’s federally funded Family Relationship Centre alongside the Children’s Contact Service, family law counselling, Parenting Orders Program, Redress Support Service and Gambling Help Service.
Mr Neumann said the new facility would strengthen support for local families.
As an accredited family law specialist, Mr Neumann said the centre would have a lasting impact.
“As a former family lawyer, I know how important these services are.”
Ms Rae said that while the building was new, RAQ’s commitment to Ipswich families remained unchanged.
“This building is bricks and mortar – it’s what happens inside it that changes lives. This venue finally matches the standard of care our staff already bring every day.”
