RIPLEY resident Michelle Fillipi has written to Local Ipswich News to outline the situation she claims is behind numerous medical complaints she is battling.

According to Ms Fillipi, her health issues began three years ago in Redbank Plains, with her symptoms starting six months after moving there in 2021.

“I began getting patches of eczema and getting really itchy, sometimes breaking out in mild hives,” she explained.

After relocating to Ripley, she found no relief – her condition only worsened.

“The odors got worse over the next year,” she said, describing how her health continued to decline.

She began experiencing fatigue so severe it made getting through the day difficult.

“I’ve never been so sick in my entire life,” she said.

In her quest for answers, Ms Fillipi consulted two immunologists and began a regimen of immunosuppressant drugs and injections.

She says her condition has become so severe that she now reacts to foods containing cobalt, linalool, salicylic acid, and high-histamine levels.

To better understand her condition, she underwent an extensive series of tests.

“I’ve had skin-prick testing, patch testing, skin biopsies, hormone testing, bowel testing, ultrasounds, and hundreds of blood tests,” she said.

“But I’ve gotten minimal answers as to why my body is reacting in such a severe way.”

Without professional clarity, Ms Fillipi believes the culprit lies closer to home.

“We believe it is because we have been exposed to all sorts of toxic chemicals in the air from the waste industry companies in Swanbank,” she said.
