Ipswich audiences are in for a treat as Ipswich Little Theatre presents the hilarious and heartfelt Australian comedy Secret Bridesmaids’ Business by Elizabeth Coleman.

This highly anticipated production opens on September 17 and promises to deliver an unforgettable mix of laughter, drama and wedding-day chaos.

This production marks the first major play directed by accomplished actor Martie Blanchett, with support from Shane Mallory, a respected ILT stalwart with years of experience both on stage and behind the scenes.

With their combined expertise and a talented cast, audiences can expect an outstanding night – or afternoon – of theatre.

The story follows Meg and her bridesmaids as they prepare for her wedding. With just hours to go before the big day, the group plans to celebrate and let loose.

However, things take an unexpected turn when a shocking last-minute secret threatens to ruin everything.

Full of sharp humour and relatable drama, Coleman’s play cleverly reveals the chaos that can unfold when wedding plans spiral out of control.

Rated M for coarse language and adult themes, the play promises laughter and surprises for audiences who appreciate a good dose of reality mixed with comedy.

Performances will be held at 7.30pm on September 19, 20, 26 and 27 and October 3 and 4, with matinee shows at 2pm on Sundays, September 21 and 28.

Tickets are now available at ilt.org.au, at the Ipswich Visitor Information Centre by phone on 3281 0555, or in person.

From secret confessions to unexpected twists, this play is a love letter to the highs and lows of weddings and the friendships that hold them together. It will have you laughing, gasping, and nodding in recognition all the way to the final “I do”.
