VOLODYMYR Zelenskyy is no ordinary politician, and The Zelensky Story, a gripping three-part documentary, reveals the human side of Ukraine’s wartime president.

Directed by Michael Waldman, the series offers a rare glimpse into Zelenskyy’s life, from his rise as a comedic actor to his role as a steadfast leader during Russia’s invasion.

Filmed over several weeks in Ukraine, the documentary’s highlight is Waldman’s 45-minute one-on-one interview with Zelenskyy in Kyiv’s presidential palace.

Far from delivering rehearsed political statements, Zelenskyy spoke candidly about his doubts and the heavy burden of his decisions.

The series goes beyond geopolitics, delving into Zelenskyy’s early life and unexpected journey to politics.

The first episode explores his background as a TV star and entertainment mogul, revealing how his portrayal of a teacher-turned-president in Servant of the People resonated with Ukraine and set the stage for his real-life political career.

A key voice in the documentary is First Lady Olena Zelenska, who reflects on her husband’s leadership and their family’s experiences during the war.

Her perspective is vital, as she transforms from a private figure into an inspiring national presence.
At one point, Zelenskyy even uses the camera to apologizs to her for announcing his presidential run on TV without telling her first.

Combining intimate interviews, historical moments, and human strength, The Zelensky Story is more than a biography – it’s a powerful portrait of resilience in extraordinary times.
