THE 2024 Queensland Drag Racing Championship season came to an exhilarating close over the weekend, with thrilling performances from both seasoned and emerging racers.

Thanks to a brand-new racing surface and fresh management at Willowbank Raceway, fans were treated to some of the most exciting drag racing action in recent years.

The revamped facilities at Willowbank set the stage for an unforgettable season, with record-breaking speeds and nail-biting finishes across all categories.

The new track surface delivered improved traction and speed, while the forward-thinking management introduced several changes that ramped up both the competition and fan experience.

From increased spectator accessibility to more consistent race conditions, the upgrades contributed to an atmosphere of anticipation that electrified the entire season.

In the highly competitive QDRC Outlaws category, Josh Fletcher claimed the top spot, showcasing impeccable timing and precision with each run.

The QDRC SuperComp division saw Jai Schluter rise to the top, cementing his status as one of the sport’s rising stars.

Another standout performance came from Aaveen Autar, who triumphed in the QDRC Comp Bike category on debut, only a new racer to the series but taking home the gold.

In the Knijff Earthmoving Modified division, Lucas Holz showed why he’s one of the sport’s most formidable competitors.

The Top Sportsman class was an intense battle, but it was Paul Doeblien who emerged victorious, proving his skill and determination to finish the season on a high note.

Meanwhile, in Super Sedan, Mitchell Bauer clinched the win, dominating the competition with steady runs and solid reactions through the whole of 2024.

The Prime Signs/Speed Elec Super Street category was equally thrilling, with Shawn Taskis a seasoned campaigner capturing the crown.

On two wheels, Modified Bike winner Brian Alvisio was a standout as always with plenty of trophies and wins Australia wide, showing incredible control and speed to take home the championship in a tough division.

The Superfloor Junior Dragster category was one of the most heartwarming of the weekend, with young Nixon Cannuli showcasing raw talent and determination.

Finally, in the Real Street division, Ian Neilsen’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. Neilsen’s drive and technical prowess made him the undisputed champion in one of the newest categories on the entry list.

Unfortunately with the weather pouring down the finals for the Street Series were unable to be completed so the winners in the best Street Series in the world will have to wait till 2025.
