CREATIVITY has always been a joyful part of Denise Taylor’s life.

From sewing her own clothing to knitting and crocheting. Always finding comfort in making things with her hands.

When Denise had the chance to travel across Australia, the breathtaking panoramic views inspired her to start recording those memories.

One art lesson led to another, and before long Denise found herself volunteering and running a Painting for Pleasure group for the Uniting Church. This experience encouraged her to grow and refine her skills and become more confident in her artistic journey.

Denise draws inspiration from the things that make us proudly Australian – our heritage, our landscapes and the everyday objects that hold our memories.

She loves working with memorabilia and often creates commissioned pieces on items such as old watering cans, billy cans, and her main speciality … saws of all shapes and sizes. These pieces keep our country’s history alive, and she is honoured that collectors overseas have embraced her Australian themes.

Entering art competitions helps Denise stay connected and gather feedback on the relevance of her work, and she has been fortunate to receive several awards, including first prize at the Boonah Arts Festival.

If you have a treasured and cherished memory or an idea that you would love to see brought to life on your favourite canvas, Denise would love to chat and help turn that vision into reality.

Denise’s has some amazing pieces for sale at the Booval Fair Arts Connect Community Art Gallery.Booval Fair – “The heart of the community”.
