The 2026 Ipswich Region Business Excellence Awards celebrated the innovation, resilience and achievements of businesses and individuals helping to shape the future of the region.
TAFE Queensland was proud to support this year’s Young Business Person of the Year Award, celebrating young leaders who are creating jobs, growing businesses and making a positive contribution to their communities.
Andrew Manners from Sammut Bulow was named the 2026 Young Business Person of the Year, selected from a strong field of finalists including Amie Tarrant from NGU Real Estate Lifestyle and Deejay Egan from DCC Group.
TAFE Queensland Director, Customer and Student Experience (South West Region), Charlotte Batley, said the awards highlighted the incredible talent and drive within the Ipswich business community.
“What stood out about this year’s finalists was that each had a very different story, but they all demonstrated the same qualities of resilience, determination and purpose,” Ms Batley said.
“They’ve each taken an idea, a passion, lived experience or a goal and turned it into something meaningful, creating opportunities for others and making a positive contribution to their communities.”
“At TAFE Queensland, we believe in the power of education and opportunity to help people realise their potential. We see that every day as people back themselves, learn new skills, take on new challenges and pursue goals that matter to them.”
“Andrew’s achievement, alongside the success of all finalists, reflects the talent, leadership and innovation we continue to see across the Ipswich region.”
“On behalf of TAFE Queensland, congratulations to Andrew and all finalists on their outstanding achievements.”
