THE Springfield Anglican College celebrated a historic milestone last week with the official opening of the $18 million Ironbark Indoor Sports Centre.
The centre is a state-of-the-art facility that promises to enhance the school’s sporting, educational and community offerings.
The event was attended by Governor of Queensland Jeannette Young, and marks the start of a new chapter in the school’s 27-year history.
The Ironbark Indoor Sports Centre is the largest project ever undertaken by the college, designed to provide students with cutting-edge resources to support their physical, academic and personal development.
The centre features two international standard basketball courts, classrooms, a presentation stage and a range of student and staff amenities, all aimed at fostering excellence in both sport and learning.
“The Ironbark Indoor Sports Centre is more than just a building; it is a centre for excellence where our students will learn important lessons of commitment and teamwork,” Principal Steven Morris said.
“A place where students will train, learn and celebrate together in their pursuit of sporting excellence, cultural enrichment and community connection.
“This facility will serve as a hub for our community.”
