Well, I have some big shoes to fill! And not just because of Chappo’s big feet.
In his time as editor of Local Ipswich News, Pete built the paper into a much-loved community read. With stories that reflected the good of this city and showcased the people who make up its community, he crafted a proper newspaper, which I’m proud to take over.
We will be covering the same sorts of stories, with our focus on the city and the people who make it special whilst holding those in power to account when it’s needed. And even provide them a word or two of praise on jobs well done.
Our focus continues to remain in health, education and local issues that make-up our community. It may be a cliché to say that kids are our future, but it’s only become a cliché because it’s true. So we want to find great examples of youngsters who prove that young or old, you have plenty to give the community you love.
Above all, we want to make sure we bring you all the amazing stories from our community organisations, things they do without wanting the limelight, or even in most cases a thanks or praise. It’s a new era for Local Ipswich News, and for me personally as I step into our previous editor’s shoes. I’ll do my best to continue bringing news from across Ipswich. I hope that you will continue to support us.
