It was wonderful to see that this year’s People’s Choice Award at the Ipswich Art awards went to a local artist and Artsconnect member Rafaella Picotti.

Coming off her success as Champion Artwork at this year’s Ipswich Show, Raffaella must be on cloud nine with her achievements.

In fact, Raffaella said she was totally speechless as the news was certainly unexpected.

Rafaella’s ‘The Fox and the Grapes’ is a beautifully painting created in a classical style.

It is one of those paintings that the longer you look at it the more you see.

The painting received 361 votes to take out the award at the 2023 Ipswich Art Awards.

It is a stunningly beautiful and technically perfect artwork with a whimsical feel to the image that appealed to the young and old.

You will be able to see more of Rafaella’s work at this year’s Artsconnect “Off the Wall” art exhibition in the Ipswich Community Art Gallery in August.
