Collingwood Catch is definitely the reel deal

Holy mackerel! Collingwood Catch has battered the competition and reeled in Ipswich’s Best Seafood Dish title, proving that when it comes to fish and chips, this food truck is no small fry!

Sometimes, you just have to keep things simple.

Fresh fish, golden crunchy batter, piping-hot chips and a whole lot of flavour.

No need to carp on about fancy presentation or complicated recipes – when you get the basics right, you’re already swimming ahead of the pack.

Operating from a food truck just metres from where its fresh seafood is sold, this operation has freshness right on its doorstep.

From the seafood counter to the fryer, it’s a short trip for the star of the show, and the result is a classic fish-and-chip feed that hooks you from the first bite.

But here’s the real kicker – or should that be the real fisherman’s tale?

Cast your mind back 20 weeks to when this campaign first set sail. Can you believe that when we were on the hunt for Ipswich’s Best Fish and Chips, Collingwood Catch was still getting its food truck organised?

If Jonny and the crew had been up and running back then, I reckon the competition would have been swimming upstream.

They would have been light-years ahead of the rest and the other contenders might as well have packed up their fishing rods!

The fish is the catch, the chips are the perfect sidekick, and the whole experience is a reminder that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel – or the fishing boat – to serve a winner.

Now, don’t just take the bait from my review, so get along and judge this catch for yourself.

The food truck is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11.30am to 7.30pm.

So, stop floundering around wondering where to get your next seafood fix.

Get down to Collingwood Catch, grab a serve of fish and chips and tuck in.

You’ll be hooked before you know it!

Because when the fish is this good, there’s plenty to love and absolutely no reason to be shellfish about sharing the news.
