AFTER a hugely successful If She Spoke 2026, where Ipswich-based artist Rhiannon Hetherington was awarded winner of Best Solo Exhibition, she is again putting the call out for story submissions for the return of this award-winning exhibition ‘If She Spoke: Stories from Struggle to Strength” for its return in 2027.
Rhiannon is looking for women who are willing to share something they have lived through, carried, survived or overcome.
Your story does not need to be perfectly written. It does not need to have a neat ending, and you do not need to think it is “not big enough” to matter. If She Spoke was created because Rhiannon never wanted women to feel as though they were alone in their struggles.
“There is something very satisfying about finally taking everything that has been living in my head and physically mapping it out – the walls, the rooms, the transitions, the stories, the installations, all of it,” Rhiannon said.
“To everyone who supported the last exhibition, thank you. Truly. That show meant so much to me, and I’m incredibly excited to start sharing what is coming next.”
This exhibition will be a very exciting collaboration with women whose work and advocacy she admires deeply – particularly the advocacy for women’s rights, equality, and ending male violence against women.
This is an exhibition about being seen. It is about giving weight to stories that have gone unheard.
