FIFTEEN weeks. Thousands of comments. More burgers, pastries, pizzas, coffees and desserts than my waistline probably wanted, but every single bite, sip and stop was worth it.
When we launched Best of Ipswich, the idea was simple. We wanted to find the places our community genuinely loves and the places that never get a little spotlight on them.
Not the places with the biggest advertising budget or the flashiest fit-out, but the hidden gems, family businesses, iconic institutions and passionate locals who make Ipswich such a great place to call home.
What happened next exceeded every expectation.
Week after week, thousands of locals jumped online to nominate, debate and passionately defend their favourites.
For me personally, the best part was never about deciding a winner.
It was meeting the owners who pour their hearts into their businesses every single day. It was hearing their stories, seeing the pride on their faces and watching what a simple community nomination meant to them.
The Best of Ipswich was never really about food – it was about community.
It was about discovering the places your neighbours rave about, while supporting local businesses.
Thank you to everyone who voted, commented, tagged a friend, shared a post or convinced me that their favourite should be my favourite week after week.
